Andy Freer - Artistic Director

Andy Freer

Andy Freer is the founder and Artistic Director, creator, writer, designer, director, puppet-maker and performer at Snuff Puppets. Andy began making giant puppets in 1988 with Splinters Inc, eventually founding Snuff Puppets in 1992. Andy has showcased the Snuff Puppets repertoire of productions, workshops and collaborations to more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, South America, Oceania and at home. Following Andy’s principles of deep engagement and lasting legacy, Snuff Puppets have returned multiple times to many of these countries. Andy has created nine theatrical productions, eight roaming acts and two unique workshop models. These works remain in repertoire and continue to be presented to this day.

Katrina Chandra - Producer

Katrina Chandra

Katrina is an experienced theatre practitioner, having spent over 20 years as a creative artist (lighting, directing) and arts administrator (producer, manager and agent). Before joining Snuff Puppets, she worked as Performing Arts Manager for Mangere Arts Centre (Auckland Council, NZ), Agency Coordinator for Playmarket, New Zealand’s professional playwrights’ organisation and as a lighting designer for most of New Zealand’s professional theatres. Katrina has a BA (Hons) in Film, Television and Media from the University of Auckland. Katrina was Snuff Puppets’ Production Manager from 2013 before being appointed Producer in 2016.

Jodie Kinnersley - General Manager

Jodie Kinnersley

Jodie has worked in marketing and development roles for several Victorian arts organisations including: 2015 Castlemaine State Festival, Jeffreys Books, Western Edge Youth Arts, Going Down Swinging, and ILBIJERRI Theatre Company. In 2017 she will undertake a professional arts placement at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center supported by the Australia Council for the Arts. For four years she served as Poetry Editor and Editorial Committee Member for youth literary journal, Voiceworks. She studied a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing from RMIT and has studied Chinese Mandarin since 2013. Jodie was Snuff Puppets’ Marketing and Development Manager before being appointed General Manager in 2016.

Hung Nguyen - Finance Manager

Hung Nguyen

Hung Nguyen is a CPA with over 15 years experience working in accounts and finance. He is also Finance, Office & ICT Officer at Multicultural Arts Victoria since 2006, shortly after migrating to Australia. Previously, Hung was Finance and Supply Chain Manager at Dumex Vietnam, a subsidiary of Danone Global. He also holds many years of experience working in large multinationals overseas. Hung has completed a Masters of Accounting from Swinburne University and the CPA Australia program.
