Andy Freer - Artistic Director

Andy Freer

Andy Freer is the founder and Artistic Director, creator, writer, designer, director, puppet-maker and performer at Snuff Puppets. Andy began making giant puppets in 1988 with Splinters Inc, eventually founding Snuff Puppets in 1992. Andy has showcased the Snuff Puppets repertoire of productions, workshops and collaborations to more than 30 countries in Asia, Europe, South America, Oceania and at home. Following Andy’s principles of deep engagement and lasting legacy, Snuff Puppets have returned multiple times to many of these countries. Andy has created nine theatrical productions, eight roaming acts and two unique workshop models. These works remain in repertoire and continue to be presented to this day.

Lauren Bok - Producer

Lauren Bok

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts/Teaching from Melbourne University. She has a strong background in producing and educational practices within the arts industry, and passionately believes the importance of bringing theatre to people that might not otherwise have access to it. Career highlights include working with Uncle Jack Charles at ILBIJERRI Theatre Company, winning the “Best Emerging Artist” Weekly Award at Adelaide Fringe 2016, and being selected for the Producer Mentorship Program with Melbourne Fringe in 2015. Lauren is also a stand-up comedian performing regularly in Melbourne and festival circuits around Australia and internationally, performing at Edinburgh Fringe in 2017.  She is the co-founder of Gaggle, a comedy network for female-identifying, trans and non-binary people, and runs her own stand-up comedy workshops from time to time. Lauren is excited beyond belief to join the Snuff Puppets team and continue her passion for contributing to communities through art and expression.

Jodie Kinnersley - General Manager

Jodie Kinnersley

Jodie has worked in marketing and development roles for several Victorian arts organisations including: 2015 Castlemaine State Festival, Jeffreys Books, Western Edge Youth Arts, Going Down Swinging, and ILBIJERRI Theatre Company. In 2017 she will undertake a professional arts placement at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center supported by the Australia Council for the Arts. For four years she served as Poetry Editor and Editorial Committee Member for youth literary journal, Voiceworks. She studied a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, a Graduate Diploma in Editing and Publishing from RMIT and has studied Chinese Mandarin since 2013. Jodie was Snuff Puppets’ Marketing and Development Manager before being appointed General Manager in 2016.

Hung Nguyen - Finance Manager

Hung Nguyen

Hung Nguyen is a CPA with over 15 years experience working in accounts and finance. He is also Finance, Office & ICT Officer at Multicultural Arts Victoria since 2006, shortly after migrating to Australia. Previously, Hung was Finance and Supply Chain Manager at Dumex Vietnam, a subsidiary of Danone Global. He also holds many years of experience working in large multinationals overseas. Hung has completed a Masters of Accounting from Swinburne University and the CPA Australia program.
